Insect Lover's Diet
If bugs creep you out you'll love this diet as much as you're insect loving pets do. Now you can serve your critters food like they’d eat in the wild without the smell. This food simulates the typical high-protein- high-fiber diet of a wide range of insectivores including birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals like Sugar Gliders, Hedgehogs and Short Tail Possums. Now you can replace gut-loading insects in your critter's diet with this highly wholesome small pelleted food. This Insect Lover's Diet is a rich source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Phospholipids. Small extruded round particles 1/8" pellets come in 8 oz. & 16 oz. sealed tub with snap on lid.
Feed to insectivores at a rate of at least 50% of their daily dry matter intake. Feed intake will vary based on animal body size and life stage, level of activity and environmental temperature. Do not feed to species that are susceptible to iron storage disease like Hornbills and Marmosets.
- Acceptance may be increased by initially soaking the extruded Diet in water (2 parts water:1 part dry diet) to transition animals that are used to soft/moist diets. I do this for my baby Short Tailed Opossums, Hedgehogs & Sugar Gliders until they are ready to crunch larger harder kibble.
- After 1-2 weeks on soaked diet, move to 1 part water: 1 part dry diet, and 1-2 weeks later, offer dry diet.
- If moistened, replace diet twice a day.
